     Henry Stafford Northcote, 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh was born on 19 November 1901.2 He is the son of Rev. Hon. John Stafford Northcote and Hilda Cardew Farrar.1 He married Elizabeth Susan Angela Mary Lowndes, daughter of Frederic Sawrey Archibald Lowndes, on 14 May 1930.2 He died on 16 February 1970 at age 68.2
     Henry Stafford Northcote, 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh was educated at Rugby College, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.2 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1923 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1927 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh [U.K., 1885] on 26 March 1927.2 He succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 26 March 1927.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Viscount Saint Cyres of Newton Saint Cyres, co. Devon [U.K., 1885] on 26 March 1927.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Welsh Guards.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was a director of General Life Assurance.2

     Stafford Henry Northcote, 1st Earl of Iddesleigh was born on 27 October 1818.1 He was the son of Henry Stafford Northcote and Agnes Mary Cockburn.2 He married Cecilia Frances Farrer, daughter of Thomas Farrer, on 5 August 1843.1 He died on 12 January 1887 at age 68.1

He married, firstly, Belle Hamblin, daughter of Frederick Harcourt Hamblin, on 23 July 1908. He married, secondly, Edith Sheilah de Crecy Steel, daughter of Reginald de Crecy Steel, on 4 September 1943. He died in 1965.

     Belle Hamblin was the daughter of Frederick Harcourt Hamblin. She married Hon. Richard Martin Peter Preston, son of Jenico William Joseph Preston, 14th Viscount Gormanston and Georgina Jane Connelan, on 23 July 1908. She died on 29 November 1936.
     Her married name became Preston.

     Edith Sheilah de Crecy Steel was the daughter of Reginald de Crecy Steel. She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. John Hay Forbes on 7 June 1930. She married, secondly, Hon. Richard Martin Peter Preston, son of Jenico William Joseph Preston, 14th Viscount Gormanston and Georgina Jane Connelan, on 4 September 1943. She died on 7 January 1951.
     From 7 June 1930, her married name became Forbes. From 4 September 1943, her married name became Preston.

     Lt.-Cdr. John Hay Forbes was born on 28 August 1906. He married Edith Sheilah de Crecy Steel, daughter of Reginald de Crecy Steel, on 7 June 1930. He died on 2 August 1940 at age 33, while on active service.
     Lt.-Cdr. John Hay Forbes gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy. He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).
