     Henry Stafford Northcote, 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh was born on 19 November 1901.1 He was the son of Rev. Hon. John Stafford Northcote and Hilda Cardew Farrar.2 He married Elizabeth Susan Angela Mary Lowndes, daughter of Frederic Sawrey Archibald Lowndes, on 14 May 1930.1 He died on 16 February 1970 at age 68.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1923 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1927 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 26 March 1927.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl of Iddesleigh [U.K., 1885] on 26 March 1927.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Viscount Saint Cyres of Newton Saint Cyres, co. Devon [U.K., 1885] on 26 March 1927.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Welsh Guards.1 He was a director of General Life Assurance.1

     Stafford Henry Northcote, 1st Earl of Iddesleigh was born on 27 October 1818.1 He was the son of Henry Stafford Northcote and Agnes Mary Cockburn.2 He married Cecilia Frances Farrer, daughter of Thomas Farrer, on 5 August 1843.1 He died on 12 January 1887 at age 68.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was Private Secretary to the President of the Board of Trade between 1843 and 1845.1 He was Legal Secretary of the Board of Trade in 1847.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1847 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1851.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 17 March 1851.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dudley between 1855 and 1857.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stamford between 1858 and 1866.1 He was Finance Secretary of the Treasury between February 1859 and June 1859.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1866.1 He held the office of President of the Board of Trade between 1866 and 1867.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Devon between 1866 and 1885.1 He held the office of Secretary of State for India between 1867 and 1868.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer between 1874 and 1880.1 He held the office of Leader of the House of Commons between 1874 and 1880.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1880.1 He held the office of Lord Rector of Edinburgh University in 1883.1 He held the office of First Lord of the Treasury between 1885 and 1886.1 He was created 1st Viscount Saint Cyres of Newton Saint Cyres, co.      Lt.-Col. Hon. Richard Martin Peter Preston was born on 12 August 1884.1 He was the son of Jenico William Joseph Preston, 14th Viscount Gormanston and Georgina Jane Connelan.1 He married, firstly, Belle Hamblin, daughter of Frederick Harcourt Hamblin, on 23 July 1908.1 He married, secondly, Edith Sheilah de Crecy Steel, daughter of Reginald de Crecy Steel, on 4 September 1943.2 He died on 20 May 1965 at age 80.1
     He was educated at Oratory School, Reading, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) (and bar) in 1917.1 He was president of the Institute of Metals between 1940 and 1942.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.1

     Belle Hamblin was the daughter of Frederick Harcourt Hamblin.1 She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Richard Martin Peter Preston, son of Jenico William Joseph Preston, 14th Viscount Gormanston and Georgina Jane Connelan, on 23 July 1908.1 She died on 29 November 1936.1
      Her married name became Preston.

     Edith Sheilah de Crecy Steel was the daughter of Reginald de Crecy Steel.2 She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. John Hay Forbes, son of Captain Charles Hay Forbes and Emily Fawcus Carrall, on 7 June 1930.2 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Hon. Richard Martin Peter Preston, son of Jenico William Joseph Preston, 14th Viscount Gormanston and Georgina Jane Connelan, on 4 September 1943.1 She died on 7 January 1951.1
      From 7 June 1930, her married name became Forbes. From 4 September 1943, her married name became Preston.
