     Richard Henry Brinsley Norton, 6th Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield was born on 2 April 1892.2 He was the son of John Richard Brinsley Norton, 5th Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield and Katharine Buckner McVickar.2 He married Jean Mary Kinloch, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir David Alexander Kinloch of Gilmerton, 11th Bt. and Elinor Lucy Bromley Davenport, on 3 April 1919.2 He died on 17 July 1954 at age 62.2
     He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.2 He was Staff Captain, War Office in 1915.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards SR.2 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield, co. York [G.B., 1782] on 5 August 1943.1

Sarah Kathleen Elinor Norton, daughter of Richard Henry Brinsley Norton, 6th Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield and Jean Mary Kinloch, on 17 April 1953.1 He and Hon. Sarah Kathleen Elinor Norton were divorced in 1965.1 He married, secondly, Gillian Ann Rosemary Woolley, daughter of Arthur Rupert Woolley, on 11 June 1966.3 He died on 11 December 2009 at age 82.4
     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1961.2 He and Hon. Sarah Kathleen Elinor Norton were adopted.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Derbyshire Yeomanry.1 He lived in 2003 at Westhay House, Axminster, Devon, EnglandG.2
