Lt.-Col. Anthony William Allen Palmer is the son of Colonel William Llewellen Palmer and Lady Alexandra Augusta Wynn-Carington.1 He married Hon. Veronica Saumarez, daughter of Sir James St. Vincent Broke Saumarez, 5th Baron de Saumarez and Gunhild Balck, on 12 July 1945.

Colonel William Llewellen Palmer was the son of Brig.-Gen. George Llewellen Palmer.2 He married Lady Alexandra Augusta Wynn-Carington, daughter of Sir Charles Robert Wynn-Carington, 1st and last Marquess of Lincolnshire and Hon. Cecilia Margaret Harbord, on 30 June 1910.1 He died in 1954.3
Colonel William Llewellen Palmer gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 10th Hussars and 4th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment (Territorial Army).1 He lived at Great Somerford Manor, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He was decorated with the Military Cross (M.C.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1
