     Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis was born on 6 February 1801. He was the son of Thomas Bowes-Lyon, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Mary Elizabeth Louisa Rodney Carpenter. He married Charlotte Grimstead, daughter of Joseph Valentine Grimstead and Charlotte Sarah Jane Walsh, on 21 December 1820 at St. James's, Westminster, London, England. He died on 27 January 1834 at age 32.
     Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis was styled as Lord Glamis.

     Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, 12th Earl of Strathmore was born on 28 September 1822 at Paul's Walden, Hertfordshire, England. He was the son of Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis and Charlotte Grimstead. He married Hon. Charlotte Maria Barrington, daughter of William Keppel Barrington, 6th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Hon. Jane Elizabeth Liddell, on 30 April 1850 at Shrivenham, Berkshire, England. He died on 13 September 1865 at age 42.
     Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, 12th Earl of Strathmore gained the title of 12th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne.
