     Mary Barbara Hamilton Cartland was born on 9 July 1901. She was the daughter of Major James Bertram Falkner Cartland and Mary Hamilton Scobell.1 She married, firstly, Captain Alexander George McCorquodale, son of Alexander Cowan McCorquodale and Maggie Janet Cox, on 23 April 1927.1 She and Captain Alexander George McCorquodale were divorced in 1932.1 She married, secondly, Hugh McCorquodale, son of Harold McCorquodale and Grace Granville, on 28 December 1936 at Guildhall, London, England.1 She died on 21 May 2000 at age 98.3
      Mary Barbara Hamilton Cartland usually went by her middle name of Barbara.1 From 23 April 1927, her married name became McCorquodale. She was invested as a Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.).1 She was an author of romance novels. She was invested as a Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.).4 She wrote the book The Love Pirate, published 1977.5

     Colonel Andrew Henry Ferguson was born on 10 October 1899.2 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Algernon Francis Holford Ferguson and Hon. Margaret Brand.1,2 He married Marian Louisa Montagu Douglas Scott, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott and Marie Josephine Edwards, on 1 November 1927.1 He died on 4 August 1966 at age 66.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Life Guards.1 In 1948 he established the Dummanor cattle herd.2

Margaret Brand, on 1 November 1927.1 She married, secondly, Air Marshall Sir Thomas Walker Elmhirst, son of Reverend William Heaton Elmhirst and Mary Knight, on 30 October 1968.1 She died on 11 December 1996 at age 88.2
      From 1 November 1927, her married name became Ferguson. Her married name became Elmhirst.

     Brig.-Gen. Algernon Francis Holford Ferguson was born in 1867. He was the son of Colonel John Stephenson Ferguson and Sophia Jane Holford.3 He married Hon. Margaret Brand, daughter of Henry Robert Brand, 2nd Viscount Hampden of Glynde and Susan Henrietta Cavendish, on 21 April 1897.2 He died on 5 November 1943.2
     He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the service of the 2nd Life Guards.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He lived at Polebrooke Hall, Oundle, Northamptonshire, England.1

     Colonel John Stephenson Ferguson was born on 17 May 1834 at Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.2 He was the son of Thomas Ferguson and Emma Benyon. He was baptised on 25 June 1834 at St. Anne's, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.2 He married Sophia Jane Holford, daughter of John Holford and Ann Shaw, on 10 June 1863 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1,2 He died on 11 January 1885 at age 50 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1,2
