Sir William Blunden, 4th Bt. was born on 25 July 1840 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of Sir John Blunden, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Knox.1 He married Florence Caroline Shuttleworth, daughter of Henry Shuttleworth and Eliza Newell, on 26 April 1879.1 He died on 25 October 1923 at age 83.1
Sir William Blunden, 4th Bt. graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1862 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1,2 He was admitted to King's Inn, Dublin in 1863.2 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (L.R.C.S.I.) in 1876.1,2 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1876 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).1,2 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Blunden, of Castle Blunden, co. Kilkenny [I., 1766] on 17 January 1890.1 He was a physician at Waitara, Taranaki, New Zealand.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kilkenny in 1904.1
