Reverend James Bruce was the son of Reverend Michael Bruce and Jean Bruce.1 He married Margaret Trail, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Trail and Mary Hamilton, in 1685.1 He died in 1726.1

Rev. Sir Henry Hervey Aston Bruce, 1st Bt. was the son of James Bruce and Henrietta Aston.1 He married Letitia Barnard, daughter of Rev. Dr. Henry Barnard and Mary Canning, on 10 November 1786.1 He died in 1822.2
