Sir James Robertson Bruce, 2nd Bt. was born on 4 September 1788.2 He was the son of Rev. Sir Henry Hervey Aston Bruce, 1st Bt. and Letitia Barnard.1 He married Ellen Hesketh, daughter of Robert Bamford Hesketh, on 20 September 1819.2 He died on 22 April 1836 at age 47.3

Admiral Sir Henry William Bruce was born on 2 February 1792.1 He was the son of Rev. Sir Henry Hervey Aston Bruce, 1st Bt. and Letitia Barnard.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Mary Minchin Dalrymple, daughter of Colonel George Dalrymple.2 He married, firstly, Jane Cochrane, daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Forrester Cochrane and Maria Shaw, on 9 February 1822.1 He died on 14 December 1863 at age 71.2
