Sir William Bruce of Stenhouse, 2nd Bt. was born on 19 August 1621.1 He was the son of Sir William Bruce, 1st Bt. and Rachel Johnston.1 He married Helen Douglas, daughter of William Douglas of Cavers.1
Sir William Bruce of Stenhouse, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Bruce, of Stenhouse [N.S., 1628] in February 1630.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1649 in the service of the county of Stirling.2
