     Ellen Hesketh was the daughter of Robert Bamford Hesketh.1 She married Sir James Robertson Bruce, 2nd Bt., son of Rev. Sir Henry Hervey Aston Bruce, 1st Bt. and Letitia Barnard, on 20 September 1819.1 She died on 14 July 1864.1
     From 20 September 1819, her married name became Bruce.

Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Hervey Bruce, 3rd Bt.1

     Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Hervey Bruce, 3rd Bt. was born on 22 September 1820.2 He was the son of Sir James Robertson Bruce, 2nd Bt. and Ellen Hesketh.1 He married Marianne Margaret Clifton, daughter of Sir Juckes Granville Juckes Clifton, 8th Bt., on 12 July 1842.2 He died on 8 December 1909 at age 89.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bruce, of Downhill, co. Londonderry [U.K., 1804] on 22 April 1836.2 He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Life Guards.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Londonderry in 1846.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 9th Brigade, Northern Ireland Division, Royal Artillery.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Coleraine between 1862 and 1874.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Coleraine between 1880 and 1885.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Londonderry.2

     Colonel Robert Bruce was born on 17 February 1825.1 He was the son of Sir James Robertson Bruce, 2nd Bt. and Ellen Hesketh.1 He married Mary Caroline Burgoyne, daughter of Colonel Sir John Montagu Burgoyne, 9th Bt. and Mary Harriet Gore-Langton, on 1 February 1859.1 He died on 1 September 1899 at age 74.1
     He fought in the Crimean War.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 23rd Fusiliers.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He was Inspector-General of the Royal Irish Constabulary between 1882 and 1885.1
