     Sir Andrew George Buchanan, 5th Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He graduated from Wye Agricultural College, Wye, Kent, England, with a Diploma of Farm Business Administration.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1976.¹ He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Buchanan, of Dunburgh [U.K., 1878] in 1984.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire between 1985 and 1991.¹ He was invested as a Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1991.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire in 1991.¹ He lived in 2003 at Hodsock Priory, Blyth, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England.¹

     Belinda Jane Virginia Maclean is the daughter of Donald Colquhoun Maclean.¹ She married, firstly, Gresham Neilus Vaughan before 1966.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Andrew George Buchanan, 5th Bt., son of Major Sir Charles James Buchanan, 4th Bt. and Barbara Helen Stanley, on 26 April 1966.¹
     From before 1966, her married name became Vaughan.¹ From 26 April 1966, her married name became Buchanan. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.¹ She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire in 1998.¹
