     Lady Hester Margaret Cairns was born on 3 August 1895.1 She is the daughter of Wilfred Dallas Cairns, 4th Earl Cairns and Olive Cobbold.2 She married Rt. Hon. Robert Croft Bourne, son of Colonel Gilbert Charles Bourne and Constance Margaret Graham Croft, on 7 June 1917.1
      From 7 June 1917, her married name became Bourne. She was Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party Organisation and President of the National Society Cconsefvative and Unionist Women Organisers between 1939 and 1943.1

     Colonel Gilbert Charles Bourne was the son of Lt.-Col. R. Bourne.2 He married Constance Margaret Graham Croft, daughter of Sir John Frederick Croft, 2nd Bt. and Emma Graham, on 14 July 1877.2 He died on 9 March 1933.2
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).2 He graduated with a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.).2 He was Emeritus Linacre Professor of Comparative Anatomy at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).1 He lived at Cowarne Court, Herefordshire, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2

     Rt. Hon. Robert Croft Bourne was the son of Colonel Gilbert Charles Bourne and Constance Margaret Graham Croft.2 He married Lady Hester Margaret Cairns, daughter of Wilfred Dallas Cairns, 4th Earl Cairns and Olive Cobbold, on 7 June 1917.1 He died on 7 August 1938.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Herefordshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.).1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Fyfield Manor, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.2

     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Rifle Brigade.4 He fought in the First World War.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex between 1949 and 1950.2

      From 26 November 1930, her married name became Holroyd. She lived at Providence Cottage, Chute Cadley, Andover, Hampshire, England.1
