     Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1708.1 He was the son of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine.1 He married Christian Cuninghame, daughter of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick, circa 1730.1 He died on 13 November 1778.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Douglas, of Kelhead [N.S., 1667] on 10 October 1733.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries Burghs between 1734 and 1736.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries-shire between 1741 and 1747.1 Between 1746 and 1748 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for suspected Jacobitism.1

     Christian Cuninghame was the daughter of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick.2 She married Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt., son of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine, circa 1730.1 She died in November 1741.1
     From circa 1730, her married name became Douglas.1

     Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. was born circa 1730.2 He was the son of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame.2 He married Grace Johnstone, daughter of William Johnstone, on 21 March 1772.2 He died on 16 May 1783.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries Burghs between 1768 and 1780.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Douglas, of Kelhead [N.S., 1667] on 13 November 1778.2

     John Douglas, 7th Marquess of Queensberry was born in 1779.1 He was the son of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone.2 He married Sarah Douglas, daughter of Major James Sholto Douglas and Sarah Dawes, on 16 July 1817.1 He died on 19 December 1856.1
