Edward Bullock Douglas was born on 28 June 1774. He was the son of Charles James Sholto Douglas and Mary Bullock. He married Harriet Bullock, daughter of Reverend Richard Bullock, on 14 February 1811. He died on 7 July 1830 at age 56.

Sir William Maxwell of Springkell, 2nd Bt. was born on 10 August 1703.2 He was the son of Sir Patrick Maxwell, 1st Bt. and Mary Gordon.3 He married Catherine Douglas, daughter of Sir William Douglas, 2nd Bt. and Helen Erskine, on 11 October 1725.2 He died on 14 July 1760 at age 56.2
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Maxwell, of Springkell [N.S., 1683] in April 1723.2

John Hope, 2nd Earl of Hopetoun was born on 7 September 1704.1 He was the son of Charles Hope, 1st Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Henrietta Johnstone.1 He was baptised on 15 September 1704 at Abercorn, West Lothian, Scotland.2 He married, firstly, Anne Ogilvy, daughter of James Ogilvy, 5th Earl of Findlater and Lady Elizabeth Hay, on 14 September 1733.1 He married, secondly, Jane Oliphant, daughter of Robert Oliphant, on 30 October 1762.1 He married, thirdly, Lady Elizabeth Leslie, daughter of Alexander Leslie, 7th Earl of Leven and Hon. Elizabeth Monypenny, on 10 June 1767.3 He died on 12 February 1781 at age 76.1

Francis Archibald Douglas, Viscount Drumlanrig was born on 3 February 1867.1 He was the son of John Sholto Douglas, 9th Marquess of Queensberry and Sibyl Montgomery.1 He died on 19 October 1894 at age 27 at Wiltshire, England, killed in a shooting accident, unmarried.1
He was styled as Viscount Drumlanrig.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 2nd Battalion, Coldstream Guards.1 He held the office of a Lord in Waiting.1 He was created 1st Baron Kelhead, of Kelhead, co. Dumfries [U.K.] on 22 June 1893.1 On his death, his UK barony became extinct.1
