     Charles Des Voeux was born on 29 April 1802 at York, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Des Voeux, 2nd Bt. and Christina Hird.1,2 He married Hon. Frances Henrietta Law, daughter of Edward Law, 1st Baron Ellenborough and Anne Towry, on 8 March 1832.1 He died on 9 August 1833 at age 31 at Brussels, Belgium.1

     Hon. Michael David Sieff was born on 12 March 1911.1 He was the son of Israel Moses Sieff, Baron Sieff and Rebecca Doro Marks.1 He married, firstly, Daphne Madge Kerin Michael, daughter of Cyril Aaron Michael, in 1932.1 He and Daphne Madge Kerin Michael were divorced in 1975.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Pitt, daughter of William Norman Pitt, in 1975.1 He died in 1987.1
     Hon. Michael David Sieff was educated at Manchester Grammar School, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 He was with Marks & Spencer between 1929 and 1976.1 He fought in the Second World War in 1939.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1944 in the service of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.1 He was director of Marks & Spencer between 1950 and 1979.1 He was assistant managing director of Marks & Spencer between 1965 and 1971.1 He was joint managing director of Marks & Spencer between 1971 and 1976.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1975.1

     From 1975, her married name became Sieff.1 As a result of her marriage, Elizabeth Pitt was styled as Baroness Haslam on 20 July 1996. From 20 July 1996, her married name became Haslam.1

     Lady Christian Douglas is the daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton.1 She married by contract, firstly, Laurence Oliphant, Master of Oliphant, son of Laurence Oliphant, 4th Lord Oliphant and Lady Margaret Hay, on 17 February 1575/76.1 She married, secondly, Alexander Home, 1st Earl of Home, son of Alexander Home, 5th Lord Home and Agnes Gray, circa 14 December 1585.1
     From 17 February 1575/76, her married name became Oliphant.1 From circa 14 December 1585, her married name became Home.1 As a result of her marriage, Lady Christian Douglas was styled as Countess of Home on 4 March 1605.
