     Rt. Hon. John Hookham Frere was born on 21 May 1769 at London, England.2 He was the son of John Frere and Jane Hookham.2 He married Elizabeth Jemima Blake, daughter of Joseph Blake and Honoria Daly, on 12 September 1816.1 He died on 7 January 1846 at age 76 at Piet Valletta, Malta.2
     Rt. Hon. John Hookham Frere was educated in 1785 at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.2 He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1792 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1795 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Looe between 1796 and 1802.2 He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1796 and 1808.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1805.2 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State in 1809.2 He translated Aristophanes into English.2 He lived at Roydon Hall, Diss, Norfolk, England.1
