     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Queen's Own Yorkshire Yeomanry (RARO).¹ He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Colman, of Gatton Park, Gatton, Surrey [U.K., 1907] on 8 January 1961.¹ He was a director of Reckitt & Colman plc between 1970 and 1995.¹ He was chairman of Reckitt & Colman plc between 1986 and 1995.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Hull University, Hull, Yorkshire, England, in 1993.¹ He was 1st Church Estates Commissioner between 1993 and 1999.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Cross of St. Augustine.¹ He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.).¹ He lived in 2003 at Malshanger, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.¹

     Vice-Admiral Sir Peveril Barton Reibey William-Powlett was born on 5 March 1898 at Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales.² He was the son of Major Barton Newton Wallop William-Powlett and Emily Charlotte Reibey.³ He married, firstly, Helen Constance Forbes-Crombie, daughter of James Forbes Crombie and Charlotte Evans Dixon, in 1923 at Chelsea, London, England.² He married, secondly, Barbara Patience Greenwell, daughter of Sir Bernard Eyre Greenwell, 2nd Bt. and Anna Elizabeth McClintock, on 22 January 1966.³ He died on 10 November 1985 at age 87 at Ottey St. Mary, Devon, England.²
     He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).¹ He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).⁴ He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).¹ He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.).¹ He held the office of Governor of Southern Rhodesia between 26 November 1954 and 28 December 1959.⁵

     Judith Jean Wallop William-Powlett was born in 1936.² She is the daughter of Vice-Admiral Sir Peveril Barton Reibey William-Powlett and Helen Constance Forbes-Crombie.^3,2 She married Sir Michael Jeremiah Colman, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Jeremiah Colman, 2nd Bt. and Edith Gwendolen Tritton, on 29 October 1955.¹
      From 29 October 1955, her married name became Colman. She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire in 1999.¹
