     Chidley Downes Coote was born in 1829.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Henry Coote, 9th Bt. and Caroline Whaley.2 He married Thérèse Reinbod, daughter of Captain John Anthony Reinbod, in 1868.1 He died on 10 March 1872, without issue.1
     Chidley Downes Coote gained the rank of officer in the service of the 52nd Foot.1
