Maria Elizabeth Tollemache was born on 27 October 1809.1 She was the daughter of Hon. Charles Tollemache and Gertrude Florinda Gardiner.1 She married Sir Charles Brudenell-Bruce, 1st Marquess of Ailesbury, son of Thomas Brudenell-Bruce, 1st Earl of Ailesbury and Susanna Hoare, on 20 August 1833 at Ham House, Petersham, Surrey, England.1 She died on 7 May 1893 at age 83.1 She was buried at Petersham, Surrey, England.1 Her will (dated 24 July 1891) was probated, at £74,920.1
As a result of her marriage, Maria Elizabeth Tollemache was styled as Marchioness of Ailesbury on 20 August 1833. From 20 August 1833, her married name became Brudenell-Bruce.
