     Sir Thomas Pelham, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 22 September 1597.3 He was the son of Sir Thomas Pelham, 1st Bt. and Mary Walsingham.1,2 He married, secondly, Judith Honeywood, daughter of Sir Robert Honeywood.3 He married, firstly, Mary Wilbraham, daughter of Sir Roger Wilbraham.3 He married, thirdly, Margaret Vane, daughter of Sir Henry Vane.3 He died circa August 1654.1 He was buried on 28 August 1654.3
     Sir Thomas Pelham, 2nd Bt. held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Grinstead from 1621 to 1622.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sussex from 1624 to 1625.3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Pelham, of Laughton, co. Sussex [E., 1611] on 2 December 1624.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sussex between 1640 and 1648.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sussex in 1654.3

     Susan Felton was the daughter of Sir Henry Felton, Bt..1 She married, firstly, Philip Harbord before 1690.1 She married, secondly, Francis Howard, 6th Baron Howard of Effingham, son of Sir Charles Howard and Frances Courthope, on 20 January 1689/90.1 She died on 11 December 1726.1
     From before 1690, her married name became Harbord.1 Her married name became Howard.

     Thomas Howard, 7th Baron Howard of Effingham was baptised on 7 July 1682.1 He was the son of Francis Howard, 6th Baron Howard of Effingham and Philadelphia Pelham.1 He married, firstly, Mary Wentworth, daughter of Ruishe Wentworth, on 25 February 1706/7.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Rotheram, daughter of John Rotheram, on 25 January 1722.1 He died on 13 July 1725 at age 43, without male issue.1
     Thomas Howard, 7th Baron Howard of Effingham succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Howard of Effingham, co. Surrey [E., 1554] on 30 March 1695.1

     Francis Howard, 1st Earl of Effingham was born on 20 October 1683.1 He was the son of Francis Howard, 6th Baron Howard of Effingham and Philadelphia Pelham.1 He married, firstly, Diana O'Farrell, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Fergus O'Farrell, on 23 February 1713.1 He married, secondly, Anne Bristow, daughter of unknown Bristow, on 23 May 1728.1 He died on 12 February 1742/43 at age 59.1
     Francis Howard, 1st Earl of Effingham succeeded to the title of 8th Baron Howard of Effingham, co. Surrey [E., 1554] on 13 July 1725.1 He held the office of Deputy Earl Marshal in 1731.1 He was created 1st Earl of Effingham, co. Surrey [Great Britain] on 8 December 1731.1
