John Francis Gore was born on 15 May 1885.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Charles Gore and Constance Mary Bruce.1 He married Lady Janet Helena Campbell, daughter of Hugh Frederick Vaughan Campbell of Cawdor, 4th Earl Cawdor of Castlemartin and Joan Emily Mary Thynne, on 14 April 1926.1 He died on 24 July 1983 at age 98.1
John Francis Gore was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1907 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Bedfordshire Yeomanry.1 He was decorated with the award of Territorial Decoration (T.D.).1 He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1941.1 He was decorated with the award of James Tait Black Memorial Prize (for his official memoir of King George V) in 1942.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1943 with a Masterr of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Chairman of the Midhurst Bench between 1944 and 1958.1 He was a journalist and author.1
