     Rev. Hon. John Fortescue was born on 5 May 1796.1 He was the son of Hugh Fortescue, 1st Earl Fortescue and Hester Grenville.2 He married Sophia Nevile, daughter of Reverend Henry William Nevile, on 13 April 1842.1
     Rev. Hon. John Fortescue graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was the Rector at Poltimore, Devon, England.1 He held the office of Canon of Worcester.1
