Alexander Elphinstone, 5th Lord Elphinstone was the son of Alexander Elphinstone, 4th Lord Elphinstone and Jean Livingstone.1 He married Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of Patrick Drummond, 3rd Lord Drummond and Lady Elizabeth Lindsay, on 28 April 1607.2 He was also reported to have been married on 5 July 1608.3 He died in 1649.3
He succeeded to the title of 5th Lord Elphinstone [S., 1510] on 11 January 1638.3
