     Alexander Elphinstone, 5th Lord Elphinstone was the son of Alexander Elphinstone, 4th Lord Elphinstone and Jean Livingstone.1 He married Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of Patrick Drummond, 3rd Lord Drummond and Lady Elizabeth Lindsay, on 28 April 1607.2 He married Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of Patrick Drummond, 3rd Lord Drummond and Lady Elizabeth Lindsay, on 5 July 1608.3 He died in 1649.3
     Alexander Elphinstone, 5th Lord Elphinstone gained the title of 5th Lord Elphinstone.

     Lieutenant Hon. Frederic Sydney Trench was born on 9 December 1894 at Woodlawn, Kilconnell, County Galway, Ireland.1 He was the son of Frederic Oliver Trench, 3rd Baron Ashtown and Violet Grace Cosby.1 He was baptised on 20 January 1895 at Woodlawn, Kilconnell, County Galway, Ireland.1 He died on 16 November 1916 at age 21, from wounds received in action the previous day.2
     Lieutenant Hon. Frederic Sydney Trench was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.2 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, where he was wounded three times.3
