     Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 2nd Bt. was born in 1688.3 He was the son of John Fergusson and Jean Whitefoord.2 A contract for the marriage of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 2nd Bt. and Jane Maitland was signed on 8 September 1726.1 He died on 20 January 1759.3
     Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 2nd Bt. was educated Edinburgh and Leyden Us.3 He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Fergusson, of Kilkerran. He was advocate , Member of Parliament (M.P.) Sutherland 1734–35, Lord of Session 1735 as Lord Kilkerran, Lord of Justiciary 1749 in 1711.3 In 1738 his compilation of Court of Session decisions published ‘by his son' (probably George, see below) 1775.3

     Lady Elizabeth Ogilvy was born before 6 May 1692.2 She was the daughter of James Ogilvy, 4th Earl of Findlater and Anne Dunbar.1 She married Charles Maitland, 6th Earl of Lauderdale, son of John Maitland, 5th Earl of Lauderdale and Lady Margaret Cuninghame, on 15 July 1710.1 She died on 24 September 1778 at Bath, Somerset, England.2
     From 15 July 1710, her married name became Maitland. As a result of her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Ogilvy was styled as Countess of Lauderdale on 30 August 1710.

     James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale was born on 23 January 1718.1 He was the son of Charles Maitland, 6th Earl of Lauderdale and Lady Elizabeth Ogilvy.1 He married Mary Lombe, daughter of Sir Thomas Lombe and Mary Turner, on 24 April 1749.1 He died on 17 August 1789 at age 71.1
     James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale succeeded to the title of 7th Viscount of Lauderdale, [S., 1616] on 15 July 1744.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Lord Maitland of Thirlestane [S., 1590] on 15 July 1744.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Maitland [N.S., 1680] on 15 July 1744.3 He succeeded to the title of 7th Earl of Lauderdale [S., 1624] on 15 July 1744.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Viscount Maitland [S., 1624] on 15 July 1744.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Lord Thirlestane and Boltoun [S., 1624] on 15 July 1744.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1745 and 1765.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1747 and 1761.1

     John Gage was born on 23 December 1767. He was the son of General Hon. Thomas Gage and Margaret Kemble. He married Mary Milbanke, daughter of John Milbanke and Lady Mary Watson-Wentworth, on 20 May 1793. He died on 24 December 1846 at age 79.
     John Gage lived at Rogate, Hertfordshire, England.
