     James Joseph Hope-Vere was born on 3 June 1785. He was the son of William Hope-Vere and Sophia Corrie. He married Lady Elizabeth Hay, daughter of George Hay, 7th Marquess of Tweeddale and Lady Hannah Charlotte Maitland, on 7 September 1813. He died on 19 May 1843 at age 57.
     James Joseph Hope-Vere lived at Cragie Hall.1 He lived at Blackwood, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

     Charles Hope-Vere was born on 8 May 1710. He was the son of Charles Hope, 1st Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Henrietta Johnstone. He married, firstly, Catherine Weir, daughter of Sir William Weir, 2nd Bt. and Christian Anstruther, on 26 July 1733. He married Lady Anne Vane, daughter of Henry Vane, 1st Earl of Darlington and Lady Grace Fitzroy, on 20 March 1745/46.1 He and Lady Anne Vane were divorced in 1757.1 He married, thirdly, Helen Dunbar, daughter of George Dunbar, on 2 April 1766. He died on 30 December 1791 at age 81.
     Charles Hope-Vere was also known as Charles Hope-Vere.1 He lived at Craigiehall, West Lothian, Scotland.
