Hon. Edwin Samuel Montagu was born on 6 February 1879. He was the son of Montagu Samuel, 1st Baron Swaythling and Ellen Cohen. He married Beatrice Venetia Stanley, daughter of Edward Lyulph Stanley, 4th Baron Sheffield and Mary Katherine Bell, on 26 July 1915. He died on 15 November 1924 at age 45.
