Sir Herbert George Denman Croft, 9th Bt. was born on 25 July 1838.1 He was the son of Sir Archer Denman Croft, 8th Bt. and Julia Barbara Garstin.1 He married Georgiana Eliza Lucy Marsh, daughter of Matthew Marsh, on 10 January 1865.1 He died on 11 February 1902 at age 63.1
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Herefordshire Militia.1 He was a practising barrister.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Croft, of Croft Castle, co. Hereford [E., 1671] on 10 January 1865.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire between 1868 and 1874.1 He was Inspector of the Constabulary, North of England between 1892 and 1902.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Herefordshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Herefordshire.1
