     Hon. Charles Barclay-Maitland of Tillicoultrie was born circa 1720. He was the son of Charles Maitland, 6th Earl of Lauderdale and Lady Elizabeth Ogilvy. He married, firstly, Isabel Barclay of Towie, daughter of Sir Alexander Barclay of Towie, 1st Bt. and Helen Duff.2 He married, secondly, Janet Moncrieffe, daughter of Sir Thomas Moncreiffe of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Smythe, on 11 February 1768.3 He died on 28 November 1795.1
     Hon. Charles Barclay-Maitland of Tillicoultrie was baptised with the name of Charles Maitland.2 His name was legally changed to Charles Barclay-Maitland.1

     Reverend Charles Maitland was born on 4 November 1789. He was the son of Charles Maitland and Elizabeth Mary Hale. He married Anne Knott, daughter of Thomas Knott, on 6 September 1810. He died in December 1844 at age 55.
     Reverend Charles Maitland was the Rector at Little Longford, Wiltshire, England.
