William Hay, 4th Earl of Erroll was the son of William Hay, 3rd Earl of Erroll and Lady Isabella Gordon.1 He married, firstly, Christian Lyon, daughter of John Lyon, 3rd Lord Glamis and Elizabeth Scrymgeour, circa 24 April 1492.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Kerr, daughter of Andrew Kerr of Cessford, circa 17 May 1509.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England.1
