Henry Trail Erskine was born on 25 December 1815.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Thomas Erskine and Henrietta Eliza Trail.1 He married Eliza Sarah Hore, daughter of Commander Herbert William Hore, on 18 December 1856.1 He died on 21 May 1865 at age 49, without issue.1
