John Grant, 6th of Freuchie was born on 17 August 1596.2 He was the son of John Grant, 5th of Freuchie and Lady Lilias Murray.1 He married Mary Ogilvy, daughter of Walter Ogilvy, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford, on 11 December 1613.2 He died on 1 April 1637 at age 40, with six younger sons (Patrick, of Cluniemoir, tutor (guardian) of Grant, had three daughters.2
He was George, Maj, Governor Dumbarton Castle, d without issue.2 Alexander, had two daughters.2 Robert, grandfather of Robert Og (‘The Younger'), of Milton.2 Thomas, of Balmacaan, had issue).2 Mungo, ancestor of the GRANTs OF KINCHIRDIE.2 He lived at Multen, Scotland.1 He lived at Freuchie, Scotland.3

Walter Ogilvy, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford was the son of Alexander Ogilvy and Barbara Ogilvy.2 He married Agnes Elphinstone, daughter of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond.3 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie, in 1582.4 He died between 6 July 1625 and 14 February 1627.4
He gained the title of 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford.

Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly was the son of George Gordon, 2nd Marquess of Huntly and Lady Anne Campbell.2 He married Mary Grant, daughter of John Grant, 6th of Freuchie and Mary Ogilvy, in October 1644.1 He died in December 1653.3,4
