     James Butler, 4th/14th Baron Dunboyne was the son of Edmund Butler, 3rd/13th Baron Dunboyne and Margaret Butler.2,3 He married Ellen Butler, daughter of Sir Pierce Butler, 1st Viscount of Ikerrin and Lady Ellen Butler.1 He died in 1662, without male issue.3
     James Butler, 4th/14th Baron Dunboyne succeeded to the title of 14th Baron Dunboyne [I., 1324] on 17 May 1640.3 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Dunboyne, co. Meath [I., 1541] on 17 May 1640.3
