     Guy Eddowes Paget Paget-Bowman was born in 1878.1 He was the son of Sir William Paget-Bowman, 2nd Bt. and Emily Frances Swabey.2 He married Ethel Mary Bowman, daughter of George Cyril Bowman and Margaret Percival Clark, on 10 April 1907.1 He died on 17 March 1933.1
     Guy Eddowes Paget Paget-Bowman graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He was Actuary of the Lower House Convocation (Canterbury Province).1

     William Allen Jowitt, 1st and last Earl Jowitt was born on 15 April 1885.1 He was the son of Reverend William Jowitt and Louisa Margaret Allen.1 He married Lesley McIntyre, daughter of James Patrick McIntyre, on 19 December 1913.2 He died on 16 August 1957 at age 72.1
     William Allen Jowitt, 1st and last Earl Jowitt was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1906 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1909 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was invested as a King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1922.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hartlepools between 1922 and 1924.1 He was invested as a Knight Bachelor in 1929.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Preston between 1929 and 1931.1 He held the office of Attorney-General between June 1929 and January 1932.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1931.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ashton-under-Lyne between 1931 and 1945.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General between May 1940 and March 1942.2 He held the office of Lord High Chancellor between 1945 and 1951.2 He was created 1st Baron Jowitt [U.K.] on 2 August 1945.2 He was created 1st Viscount Jowitt, of Stevenage, co. Hertford [U.K.] on 20 January 1947.2 He was created 1st Earl Jowitt [U.K.] on 24 December 1951.2
