     Major Robert Alexander Hambro was born on 7 July 1910.¹ He was the son of Angus Valdimar Hambro and Rosamund Maud Kearsley.² He married Barbara Jessica Hardy Beaton, daughter of Ernest Walter Hardy Beaton, on 6 November 1934.¹ He died on 8 August 1943 at age 33, from wounds received in action.¹
