     William Fitzwilliam Burton was born on 22 September 1796.1 He was the son of Benjamin Burton and Anne Mainwaring.2 He married, firstly, Mary Power, daughter of Sir John Power, 1st Bt., on 18 July 1825.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor Mary Browne, daughter of William Browne and Lady Charlotte Bourke, on 5 October 1840.3 He died on 15 November 1844 at age 48.4
     William Fitzwilliam Burton held the office of High Sheriff of County Carlow in 1822.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Carlow.1 He lived at Burton Hall, County Carlow, Ireland.1
