     Jane Amelia Keir was the daughter of Patrick Small Keir.1 She married Major Francis Walter Balfour, son of Francis Balfour and Margaret Bower, on 25 October 1866.1 She died on 9 February 1898.1
     From 25 October 1866, her married name became Balfour.1
