Lady Elizabeth Hamilton was born between 1640 and 1647. She was the daughter of William Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Hamilton and Lady Elizabeth Maxwell.1 She married, firstly, James Cuninghame, Lord Kilmaur, son of William Cuninghame, 9th Earl of Glencairn and Lady Anne Ogilvy, on 30 September 1662.1 She married, secondly, Sir David Cunningham of Robertland, 4th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Cuningham of Robertland, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Cunninghame, after 1665.1 She died after 1679.2

William Cuninghame, 9th Earl of Glencairn was born circa 1610.1 He was the son of William Cuninghame, 8th Earl of Glencairn and Lady Janet Kerr.2 He married, secondly, Lady Margaret Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 6th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Anne Livingstone.3 He married by contract, firstly, Lady Anne Ogilvy, daughter of James Ogilvy, 1st Earl of Findlater and Lady Elizabeth Leslie, on 5 April 1637.3 He died on 27 January 1664/65 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was also reported to have died on 30 May 1664 at Belton, East Lothian, Scotland.3

She was the daughter of William Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Hamilton and Lady Elizabeth Maxwell.1 She married by contract, firstly, Alexander Livingston, 2nd Earl of Callendar, son of Alexander Livingstone, 2nd Earl of Linlithgow and Lady Mary Douglas, on 25 August 1663.1 She married by contract, secondly, Sir James Livingston, 1st Bt. on 28 June 1690.1 She married, thirdly, James Ogilvy, 3rd Earl of Findlater, son of Patrick Ogilvy, 2nd Earl of Findlater and Elizabeth Ogilvy, after 1691.1 She died, without issue.1
From 25 August 1663, her married name became Livingston.1 As a result of her marriage, Lady Mary Hamilton was styled as Countess of Callendar in March 1674. From after 1691, her married name became Ogilvy.
