Frances Wemyss was the daughter of James Wemyss, 5th Earl of Wemyss and Janet Charteris. She married Sir James Steuart Denholm, Bt. on 14 October 1743. She died on 29 June 1789.

Richard Butler, 2nd Earl of Glengall was born on 17 May 1794.1 He was the son of Richard Butler, 1st Earl of Glengall and Emilia Jefferyes.1 He married Margaret Lauretta Mellish on 20 March 1834. He died on 22 June 1858 at age 64, without male issue.1 He died, On his death, all of his titles became extinct.1
