     Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was the daughter of Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount Townshend of Raynham and Hon. Elizabeth Pelham.1 She married Sir Charles Cornwallis, 1st Earl Cornwallis, son of Sir Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye and Lady Charlotte Butler, on 28 November 1722.2 She died on 1 December 1785.1
     As a result of her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was styled as Baroness Cornwallis of Eye on 28 November 1722. From 28 November 1722, her married name became Cornwallis.2 As a result of her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was styled as Countess Cornwallis on 30 June 1753.

     Captain Christopher Michael Cadogan was born on 4 February 1917.1 He was the son of Commander Francis Charles Cadogan and Ruth Evelyn Howard.2 He married Stella Irena Zilliacus, daughter of Konni Zilliacus, on 11 July 1940.1 He died in June 1941 at age 24, drowned on active service off Cyprus.1
     Captain Christopher Michael Cadogan was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Berkshire Regiment.1

     Sir Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye was born in 1675.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Cornwallis, 3rd Baron Cornwallis of Eye and Elizabeth Fox.1,2 He married Lady Charlotte Butler, daughter of Richard Butler, 1st Earl of Arran, on 6 June 1699.1 He died on 20 January 1721/22.1
     Sir Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Cornwallis [E., 1627] on 29 April 1693.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye, Suffolk [E., 1661] on 29 April 1693.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Eye between 1695 and 1698.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk between 1698 and 1703.1 He held the office of Joint Postmaster-General between 1715 and 1721.1 He held the office of Paymaster-General from 1721 to January 1721/22.1 He had four other sons (two died unmarried) and three daughters, who all died unmarried.1
