     Iona Ellen McClean was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Kennedy McClean and Aileen Wale.2,3 She married Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron Carrington of Upton, son of Rupert Victor John Carington, 5th Baron Carrington of Upton and Hon. Sybil Marion Colville, on 25 April 1942.1 She died on 7 June 2009.3
     As a result of her marriage, Iona Ellen McClean was styled as Baroness Carrington of Upton on 25 April 1942. From 25 April 1942, her married name became Carrington.1

     Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Kennedy McClean was born on 1 February 1876.2 He married Aileen Wale, daughter of W. H. Wale, in 1918.2 He died on 11 August 1955 at age 79.2
     Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Kennedy McClean lived at Huntercombe Place, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was decorated with the award of Air Force Cross (A.F.C.).1

     Mary Ashton was born on 17 December 1818 at Pole Bank, Gee Cross, Hyde, Cheshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Ashton and Mary Turner.1 She married Thomas Bayley Potter, son of Sir Thomas Potter and Esther Bayley, on 5 February 1846 at Hyde Old Chapel, Hyde, Cheshire, England.1 She died on 6 November 1885 at age 66 at Hôtel Beau Séjour, Cannes, France, from cancer.1
     From 5 February 1846, her married name became Potter.1
