     Francis Robert Eden, 6th Baron Henley of Chardstock was born on 11 April 1877.1 He was the son of Anthony Henley, 3rd Baron Henley of Chardstock and Clare Campbell Lucy Jekyll.1,2 He married Lady Dorothy Georgiana Howard, daughter of George James Howard, 9th Earl of Carlisle and Hon. Rosalind Frances Stanley, on 14 October 1913.3 He died on 21 April 1962 at age 85.3
     Francis Robert Eden, 6th Baron Henley of Chardstock was baptised with the name of Francis Robert Henley.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1900 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1904 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Northington of Watford, co. Northampton [U.K., 1885] on 23 October 1925.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baron Henley of Chardstock, co. Dorset [I., 1799] on 23 October 1925.1 On 11 December 1925 his name was legally changed to Francis Robert Eden by Deed Poll.1

     Michael Francis Eden, 7th Baron Henley of Chardstock was born on 13 August 1914.1 He was the son of Francis Robert Eden, 6th Baron Henley of Chardstock and Lady Dorothy Georgiana Howard.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Hobhouse, daughter of Sir Arthur Lawrence Hobhouse and Konradin Huth Jackson, on 19 November 1943.1 He and Elizabeth Hobhouse were divorced in 1947.1 He married, secondly, Nancy Mary Walton, daughter of Stanley Walton, on 31 August 1949.1 He and Nancy Mary Walton were divorced in 1974.1 He died on 20 December 1977 at age 63.4
     Michael Francis Eden, 7th Baron Henley of Chardstock was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.4 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.4 He fought in the Second World War.4 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Life Guards.4 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Henley of Chardstock, co. Dorset [I., 1799] on 21 April 1962.4 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Northington of Watford, co. Northampton [U.K., 1885] on 21 April 1962.4 He was President of the Liberal Party between 1966 and 1967.4 He was chairman of the Liberal Party between 1968 and 1977.4
