Harriet Thornton was the daughter of Samuel Thornton.1 She married John Thornton Leslie-Melville, 11th Earl of Leven, son of Alexander Leslie-Melville, 9th Earl of Leven and Jane Thornton, on 15 September 1812.1 She died on 26 July 1832.1

Sir Thomas Arundell was the son of Sir John Arundell and Lady Elizabeth Grey.1 He married Margaret Howard, daughter of Lord Edmund Howard.1 He died on 26 February 1552, beheaded for conspiring with Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, to murder John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland.1
He was invested as a Knight Bachelor (K.B.) on 1 June 1533 at the coronation of Anne Boleyn.1 He had some manors in Somerset and Dorset as a gift from his father.1 In 1547 he bought the castle and manor of Wardour, Wiltshire from Sir Fulke Greville.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
