Dorothy Fane was the daughter of Charles Fane, 1st Viscount Fane and Mary Stanhope. She married John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, son of Edward Richard Montagu, Viscount Hinchinbroke and Elizabeth Popham, on 7 March 1740/41. She died on 17 July 1797.

Charles Fane, 1st Viscount Fane was born on 30 January 1675/76.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Fane and Elizabeth Southcote.1 He married Mary Stanhope, daughter of Alexander Stanhope, on 12 December 1707. He died on 7 July 1744 at age 68.

He married Lady Louisa Mary Ann Julia Harriet Lowry-Corry, daughter of Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Earl of Belmore and Lady Harriet Hobart, on 9 July 1804.1 He died on 21 May 1818 at age 45.

Somerset Hamilton Butler, 1st Earl of Carrick was born on 6 September 1718.3 He was the son of Thomas Butler, 6th Viscount Ikerrin and Margaret Hamilton.2 He was baptised on 9 September 1718 at Marylebone, London, England.1 He married Lady Juliana Boyle, daughter of Henry Boyle, 1st Earl of Shannon and Lady Henrietta Boyle, on 18 May 1745.3 He died on 15 April 1774 at age 55 at County Kilkenny, Ireland.3,4 He was buried at Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland.4
